Hermetic Piston Cooling Compressors

The compressor is the crucial component of the cooling system. Irrespective of their principle of operation, they mainly pressurize the refrigerant from the evaporator until the condensation point. There are various different compressor designs and applications that perform the same function, the hermetic piston compressors are preferred in household refrigerators. The hermetic compressors are complete with single-phase, two pole asynchronous induction motors. In variable speed compressor applications, the speed control is obtained by the change of the frequency. The compressor with the speed control incorporates DC-motors, induction motors and synchronous motors.

The displacement of the compressor ranges between 3 cm3 and 10 cm3, depending on the refrigerator size and the refrigerant used.
